JAY LENO at PLAYHOUSE SQUARE, Cleveland..$125.

Come and see this master comedian ply his trade at the State Theater in Cleveland, OH.  After hosting the Tonight Show for 27 years, Jay has retired and hit the road.  His stand up routine is fresh and funny, worthy of this king of comedy.  A meal stop will be made before the evening performance.

APRIL 28 - TUES

THE LETTERMEN in Greensburg, PA..$78.

The original Lettermen are here to sing the hits you grew up with including their first, “The Way You Look Tonight”.  The performance is at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, PA .The group will entertain you with their hits from “When I Fall in Love” to “What I Did for Love”.  A stop at the nearby Cracker Barrel will be made for lunch (not included) prior to the 2:00 P.M. show.

MAY 7 - THURS   

MANSFIELD, OH BROWN BAG/KINGWOOD CENTER..$87.

The gardens at the Kingwood Center in Mansfield, OH are bursting with over 35,000 blooming tulips and other spring flowers as part of their Grand Spring Floral display.  A guide will make sure we do not miss any details in the gardens or stately mansion on the grounds.  Lunch is included at a local restaurant before we ride the carousel at Richland Carousel Park, the home of the only new hand carved carousel made in the U.S. since 1930’s.  Stops will be made at the Squirrel’s Den Candy, Eatmor Bundt Co., Pumpkin Seed Bulk Foods, The Blueberry Patch and Grandpa’s Cheese for shopping and goodies for our bags.

ANNUAL BREAKAWAY YARD SALE TO BENEFIT AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY RELAY FOR LIFE..FREE

Join us as we turn our parking lot into a yard sale of epic proportions.  No sales before 8:00 A.M. and the sale ends at approx 1:00 P.M.  Any clean usable donations will be accepted to sell if you bring them the week prior to the sale. (No clothing, please).    Call for directions to the office.

 

MAY 14 - THURS

ENGLISH TEA & GARDEN TOUR..$94.

Chillicothe, OH will be our host for this delightfully different day!  We’ll start by welcoming the beauty of spring while touring the home and gardens of the Adena Mansion, an 1800’s home complete with a gift shop.  Next up will be a Three Course English High Tea at the Atwood House, including tea sandwiches, scones, breads and chocolate cream puffs.  We’ll follow this with a peek at Yoctangee Park filled with spring flowers surrounding the lake.  Our last stop will be Grandpa’s Cheese Shopping Complex. This is an annual favorite!

“I LOVE LUCY” at PLAYHOUSE SQUARE..$85.

 “I Love Lucy, Live on Stage” is the first time this iconic ‘50’s TV show has been portrayed on stage.  See your favorites, Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel as they relive their antics from your favorite episodes.  The show has been described as “more entertaining than Broadway!”A dinner stop will be made before the 6:30 P.M. show.

MAY 21 - THURS

“STAYIN’ ALIVE”, A Bee Gees Tribute, Eastlake, OH..$89.

Spend an afternoon remembering how cool you were back in your Disco Days.  Staying Alive is the world’s #1 Bee Gees tribute band and they will recreate those  Disco nights for you with their renditions of “How Deep is Your Love”, “Night Fever”, Jive Talking” and all the hits you remember.  Lunch at the Croatian Lodge Ballroom will precede the show.

“In The Mood” is a 1940’s musical revue and is returning to the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh.  Celebrate America’s Greatest Generation through the music of Glenn Miller, The Andrew Sisters, Tommy Dorsey, Shaw, Goodman, Sinatra & more performed by a cast of 19 singers, Swing Dancers and musicians!!  A lunch stop at Station Square will be made before the 2:00 p.m. show.

 A DAY OF WINE AND POSIES..$64.

Today we will stop at one of the largest perennial mail order greenhouses in the country, Bluestone Perennials, for their annual clearance sale!!  Pick up your favorite plants at blow out prices just in time to finish up your summer planting. A delicious lunch and wine tasting are included at the award winning Grand River Cellars Winery. Stops at Robinson’s Apple Barn and Geneva on the Lake (weather permitting) will finish out the day.

JUNE 6 - SAT     

THREE RIVERS ARTS FESTIVAL & THE STRIP DISTRICT..$34.

Our mid morning departure will take us to the famous Strip District for loads of bargains.   After lunch in the Strip, we'll head for Point Park where over 150 of the nation's finest artists and crafts people showcase their wares, along with entertainment, food and much more!

JUNE 13 - SAT

MERRIT ESTATE WINERY STRAWBERRY FEST /BEMUS POINT/ CROSSROADS MALL..$57.

First stop on this summer adventure will be the new “Mall-tentative”, Cross Roads Market in Westfield, NY.  This craft and farmer’s market sits on an escarpment between two watersheds and offers unparalleled scenic vistas restaurants and, of course, with a beautiful lake view. Our next stop will be Merritt Estate Winery for their 34th annual Strawberry Festival.  We’ll have a wine tasting here and a little time to visit the vendors. Next stop will be picturesque Bemus Point right on Lake Chautauqua filled with specialty shops and restaurants.  There will be time to have dinner here.

JUNE 20 - SAT  

NIAGARA ON THE LAKE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL..$65.

 In addition to the beauty and charm of this picturesque town, the one block square grounds of St. Andrew’s Church, just off Queen St. are turned into a strawberry wonderland, with strawberry short cake, pie, entertainment and much more.  Best of all, the town’s beautiful landscaping and wonderful specialty shops are just a block or so away.  A stop at Niagara Falls will be made en route home.  Passport or U.S Passport Card are necessary to enter Canada.

JUNE 20 - SAT 

WORLD’S LARGEST GARAGE SALE, SEVILLE, OHIO..$45.

Do you just have to STOP when you come to a garage sale?  Well, then, this is the trip for you!  Every year the entire small town of Seville, Ohio (near Medina) gets rid of it all at their annual garage sale. We park at the local school so that you can make package drop offs.  Mid afternoon a stop will be made at the original home of Roots Candles and their outlet, along with the huge antique store in their parking lot.  Time for a quick dinner and a little shopping will be made at Lodi Prime Outlets before departure. If you haven’t tried this one yet, make the time.  It’s a blast!

JUNE 23 - TUES      

TASTE OF THE ALLEGHENIES BROWN BAG..$83.

Your tour starts at Fisher’s Country Store, a Mennonite owned store where you will have an opportunity to purchase bulk foods, candies, spices and get a treat for your bag.  Stop at Oak Spring Winery for samples and a gift.  Your next stop is Tea Merchant 101.  Lunch is included at a local restaurant.     Arrive at the home of the Mallo Cup, Boyer Candy Co where you shop and add another treat to your bag.  Sweet, now visit salty at Benzel’s Pretzels.  Top the day off with an ice cream cone from the first and original “frozen custard” stand owned by the Meadows family.

BOBBY VINTON in MENTOR, OH..$110.

“The Polish Prince” is still at the top of his game, performing in Las Vegas and Atlantic City as well as touring over 20 weeks per year!  Come and hear him sing his hits, “My Melody of Love”, “Blue Velvet”, “Tell Me Why” and so many more.  A late lunch will pre-cede the 5:00 P.M. show at the Mentor Fine Arts Center.

CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW..$42.

This enchanting Victorian Village and National Historic Landmark, center for entertainment and education and summer resort, is a fascinating destination.  The juried craft show on the grounds has over 70 quality exhibitors, but the grounds themselves are worth the trip.  The landscaping, the cottages, the Athenaeum Hotel and the lake are a sight to behold.  A stop will be made at a local produce market before entering the grounds.

TEXAS TENORS in MENTOR, OH..$110.

This dynamic trio of handsome men became popular after their performances on “America’s Got Talent” in 2009.  Since then they have been traveling the world entertaining with their mix of Country, Gospel, Classical and Broadway.  Come and enjoy their combination of breathtaking vocals, humor and cowboy charm.  A late lunch will precede the 5:00 P.M. show at Mentor Fine Arts Theater.

WESTFIELD CRAFT SHOW / GRAPE DISCOVERY CENTER..$45.

Our visit to neighboring New York State will include a stop at the highly regarded Westfield Arts & Craft Show, held in scenic Moore Park.  This is the 44th year for the juried show with 150 crafters, food and beverage vendors.  Our next stop will be the new Grape Discovery Center for tasting wine and cheese with an opportunity to purchase from many of the local wineries.  We’ll stop at Cracker Barrel on the way home for dinner on your own to pay.

JULY 25 - SAT       

WHEELING ITALIAN FESTIVAL AND WHEELING ISLAND..$38.

Our day begins at the Wheeling Island Racetrack and Casino where everyone will get a casino package, tba.   A stop will be made at the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival which is the largest Italian Festival in West Virginia and the 2nd largest in the United States!  Food, free entertainment, and arts & crafts booths are scattered throughout the midway

JULY 25 - SAT      

PITTSBURGH—“FOR THE BIRDS”..$77. 

Begin the day at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh where you can encounter rare, exotic and endangered birds from across the globe.  From vibrant songbirds to powerful raptors, each of the birds you uncover is more fascinating and beautiful than the last.  There will be time for lunch on your own at Station Square before taking a 60 minute land and sea ride with Just Ducky Tours aboard that “thing”.  It's an amphibious truck built during WWII for transporting goods and soldiers over land and water.  A ride on the Duquesne Incline to the top of Mount Washington will end the day.

MARINELAND in NIAGARA FALLS, CANADA..$95.

Remember when you could take your kids to Sea World in Ohio.  Do you miss those days? YAKOV SMIRNOFF in Eastlake, OH..$110.

“What a Country” has long been the tag line of this Soviet born American comedian.  Whether you have seen him on Night Court, the old Tonight Show or in his theater in Branson, MO, his trademark laugh will have you laughing as well.  Yakov will be performing following lunch at the Croatian Lodge Ballroom. “KINKY BOOTS” at THE BENEDUM..$120.
This feel good musical, based on a true story, is scored by Cindy Lauper, with a book by Harvey Fierstein.  A struggling shoe factory owner turns his business around with some help from Lola, a Fabulous entertainer, in need of sturdy stilettos. The costumes, sets, production numbers and music will blow you away, but leave your gender prejudices at home!  Tony Award winner, Billy Porter, will only leave Broadway to perform in Pittsburgh, his hometown!!  A meal stop will be made prior to the 7:00 P.M. show.

Join us as we travel to Canton, Ohio for the 2015 Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement. Departure will be early afternoon.  The tour will include admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame,with time to get dinner from the vendors.  Kick off is at 7:00 p.m. and the seats are in Section 2, Rows N to Q.  Come see the Steelers close up in this 16,000 seat theater on the weekend that Jerome Bettis is enshrined!

“CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES – A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR BASEMENT” at Mountain Playhouse..$95.

Whatever your heritage you will appreciate this day, themed to all things Italian.  We’ll travel into Ligonier, PA with a stop at DeLallo’s Italian store en route (be sure to bring your cooler).  Upon arrival at the Ramada Ligonier, we’ll enjoy a delicious Italian buffet followed by a fun filled murder mystery comedy, “Mobsters, Molls and Marinara”.  The fun is not over as. after the show, we travel to Bloomfield, PA for Little Italy Days, voted the #1 event in Pittsburgh in 2014! On Saturday the street is closed off to make room for the entertainment, vendors and, of course, great food!

“BOOK OF MORMON” at PLAYHOUSE SQUARE, CLEVELAND..$135.

If you have yet to see this blockbuster musical comedy by the makers of “Southpark”, here is one more chance!  The show is still breaking all records on Broadway and has been described as “the funniest show to ever hit the stage”.  Please be aware that there is objectionable content and go with an open mind. MARIETTA, OHIO “The Ohio River Sternwheeler Festival”..$85.

We’ll be arriving in Marietta just in time to choose a delicious lunch from the vendors set up for the festival or from one of the quaint riverside cafes.  A step on guide will meet us after lunch for a one-hour tour of the area, following which you will have time to take in the activities at the festival.  The highlight of our day will be the dinner cruise on board the Valley Gem Sternwheeler

ABSALUTE GOLD, An ABBA Tribute Band, Eastlake, OH..$89.

Anyone who has seen the movie or Broadway Show, “Mamma Mia”, or who was young in the 70’s or 80’s is familiar with the music of ABBA.  This 10 piece tribute band, # 2 in the world in authenticity, will perform the music you know and love completely live.  Clap along to “Take a Chance on Me”, “Dancing Queen”, “Fernando”, “Super Trouper” and many more.  Lunch will precede the show at the Croatian Lodge Ballroom.

Travel to the Ohio Dutch country near Berlin, OH and visit some of our all-time favorite Amish shops.  Stops will be made at Heini’s Cheese, Coblentz Chocolates, Hershberger Bakery and Farmers Market, Swiss Village Bulk Foods, time to shop in Berlin and/ or Zinck’s Fabric Outlet.  Of course a scrumptious Amish buffet lunch is included.  You will receive goodies at each stop and hear interesting facts about the Amish from our step on guide.  If the bus on September 17 fills up, the alternate date of September 24 will be made available.

Rain or Shine at Ohio Village in Columbus, Ohio.  Admission to the Ohio History Connection Museum is included.  Spend the day shopping and maybe take in one of the many featured seminars. This tour requires a lot of walking on gravel pathways and grassy areas.

SEPTEMBER 26 - FRI

NORTHEAST PA WINEFEST/ PASCHKE MUMS/ CHOCOLATE..$68.

Wine, flowers and chocolate!! A day doesn’t get any better than this!!  The famous Northeast Winefest features at least 10 of the area’s premier wineries pouring samples of their award winning wines.  Admission includes your own tasting wine glass.   Bring home some of your favorites and maybe find a special something from one of the many other vendors.  Stops will be made at the beautiful Paschke Mum farm and Pulako’s chocolate shop.

We begin our day with some time at the Hartville Flea Market.  A delicious lunch is included at the Hartville Kitchen.    The afternoon will spent at the 25th anniversary of the Barberton Mum Festival.  Stroll through displays of thousands of vibrant mums, enjoy the entertainment-tba, shop at the many craft booths and grab dinner before returning home.

FRANKLIN APPLEFEST/ OC & T RAILROAD..$54.

Spend the day at one of Western Pennsylvania’s favorite and fastest growing festivals.  We spend the day at Franklin’s Applefest.   This festival has been growing yearly and boasts over 300 vendors, food booths and farmer’s market.  We complete the day with a scenic one hour train ride aboard the Oil Creek and Titusville RR Through the “valley that changed the world”.

Our coach will deliver us to Cumberland, Maryland, for a round trip ride on Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s “Mountain Thunder” steam train.  The Helmstetter’s Horseshoe Curve, Brush Tunnel, a mile long gorge and much more, will highlight your route through the gorgeous autumn foliage.  Upon arrival in Frostburg, 1,300 feet up, you will enjoy a box lunch, see the train engine turned on the turntable and browse the gift shops before it’s “all aboard” for the return trip.  Time will be allowed in Cumberland to visit the Merling Wholesale before stopping at Hoss’ in Bedford, PA for dinner (not included).
