KINGWOOD CENTER/ MALABAR FARM/  CAROUSEL..$68.

The gardens at the Kingwood Center in Mansfield, OH are bursting with over 35,000 blooming tulips and other spring flowers as part of their Grand Spring Floral display.  A guide will make sure we do not miss any details in the gardens or stately mansion on the grounds.  Lunch is included at a local restaurant before we ride the carousel at Richland Carousel Park, the home of the only new hand carved carousel made in the U.S. since 1930’s.  We end the day with a tour of Malabar Farm, home of Pulitzer Prize winner  Louis Bromfield.

ANNUAL BREAKAWAY YARD SALE TO BENEFIT AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY RELAY FOR LIFE..FREE

Join us as we turn our parking lot into a yard sale of epic proportions.  No sales before 8:00 A.M. and the sale ends at approx 1:00 P.M.  Any clean usable donations will be accepted to sell if you bring them the week prior to the sale. (No clothing, please).Call for directions to the office.

EASTON TOWN CENTER AMERICAN GIRL STORE..$45.

Have a special someone you would like to spend the Mother’s Day season with?  Then this is a good day for you.  In nearby Columbus, Ohio, our first stop will be the North Market for a lunch stop with a little something extra.  Many of the farm to table sellers grow their own products to create the delicious food that is for sale.  Browse through the eclectic stalls before you sit down to a delicious lunch.  Next stop is luxurious and beautiful Easton Town Center, home to the closest American Girl store between New York City and Chicago.  If you have a little someone with a dolly friend she can bring her to get her hair done or to have tea with a place setting just for the doll, as well as her owner. (Please reserve at www.americangirl.com)  If you just yearn for a great shopping experience this outdoor/indoor mall has it all as well as too many great restaurants to name for dinner at a place of your choice.  We will receive a coupon book upon arrival.

ENGLISH TEA & GARDEN TOUR..$87.

Chillicothe, OH will be our host for this delightfully different day!  We’ll start by welcoming the beauty of spring while touring the home and gardens of the Adena Mansion, an 1800’s home complete with a gift shop.  Next up will be a Three Course English High Tea at the Atwood House, including tea sandwiches, scones, breads and chocolate cream puffs.  We’ll follow this with a peek at Yoctangee Park filled with spring flowers surrounding the lake.  Our last stop will be Grandpa’s Cheese Shopping Complex. This is an annual favorite!

This interesting day will begin with a stop at Shearer’s Potato Chip Outlet.  Buy tasty treats at discount prices followed by a stop at the fascinating P. Graham Dunn Gallery.  Lunch is included at the historic Canton Woman’s Club and a stop at a local candy company.  The remainder of the day is at the National First Ladies Library.  View museum exhibits, First Ladies’ original gowns, and a Victorian theatre.  Great girlfriend’s day out!!

A TASTE OF THE TITANIC..$115.

Join us on this very special day in Ligonier, PA. For those who love all things connected to the Ship of Dreams, this is the tour for you. We’ll explore the region’s connection to the Titanic through food, storytelling and music and relive the experiences of area survivors and their shipmates who never returned. The experience includes a Titanic menu-inspired high tea followed by a Titanic-era inspired fashion show. Next stop on the tour will be the Antiochan Village for their “Titanic Connection” exhibit including seldom heard passenger stories.  The executive chef here will prepare a Titanic take away treat for you followed by a viewing of “Titanic’s Final Moments”. Our last stop will be the St. Michael Antiochan Orthodox Church built by a direct descendant of a Titanic survivor.

Today we will stop at one of the largest perennial mail order greenhouses in the country, Bluestone Perennials, for their annual clearance sale!!  Pick up your favorite plants at blow out prices just in time to finish up your summer planting. A delicious lunch and wine tasting are included at the award winning Grand River Cellars Winery. Stops at Robinson’s Apple Barn and Geneva on the Lake (weather permitting) will finish out the day.

MERRIT ESTATE WINERY STRAWBERRY FEST /BEMUS POINT/ CROSSROADS MALL..$52.

First stop on this summer adventure will be the new “Mall-ternative”, Cross Roads Market in Westfield, NY.  This craft and farmer’s market sits on an escarpment between two watersheds and offers unparalleled scenic vistas.  Nest stop will be picturesque Bemus Point right on Lake Chautauqua filled with specialty shops and restaurants and, of course, with a beautiful lake view. Our last stop will be Merritt Estate Winery for their 34th annual Strawberry Festival.  In addition to wine tastings, and of course strawberries, there will be a classic car show, food vendors and live music

PITTSBURGH PIRATES VS. CHICAGO CUBS..$80.

If you follow baseball at all, you know the Pittsburgh Pirates were on fire last season, with the first ever play-off game played in PNC Park.  Here is your chance to catch some of the action and see Andrew McCutcheon and other favorites in person.  Our seats are Infield Box, section 115; the game starts at 7:05P.M (subject to change) and departure will be approx. 3:30 P.M.

NIAGARA ON THE LAKE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL..$65.

 In addition to the beauty and charm of this picturesque town, the one block square grounds of St. Andrew’s Church, just off Queen St. are turned into a strawberry wonderland, with strawberry short cake, pie, entertainment and much more.  Best of all, the town’s beautiful landscaping and wonderful specialty shops are just a block or so away.  A stop at Niagara Falls will be made en route home.  Passport or U.S Passport Card are necessary to enter Canada.

JUNE 14– SAT

WORLD’S LARGEST GARAGE SALE, SEVILLE, OHIO..$45.

Do you just have to STOP when you come to a garage sale?  Well, then, this is the trip for you!  Every year the entire small town of Seville, Ohio (near Medina) gets rid of it all at their annual garage sale. We park at the local school so that you can make package drop offs.  Mid afternoon a stop will be made at

the original home of Roots Candles and their outlet.  Time for a quick dinner

and a little shopping will be made at Lodi Prime Outlets before departure. If you haven’t tried this on yet, make the time.  It’s a blast!

“SONGS OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBER”, LIGONIER…..$80.

Travel with us into the beautiful Laurel Highlands for an entertaining afternoon.  A luncheon buffet at the Ramada Ligonier will greet us followed by Alabaster Productions salute to Andrew Lloyd Weber, with songs from “Phantom of the Opera”, Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Cats”, “Evita” and more.  Before departure a little time will be allowed to browse through the charming village of Ligonier.

Your tour starts at Fisher’s Country Store, a Mennonite owned store where you will have an opportunity to purchase bulk foods, candies, spices and get a treat for your bag.  Stop at Oak Spring Winery for samples and a gift.  Your next stop is Tea Merchant 101.  Lunch is included at a local restaurant.     Arrive at the home of the Mallo Cup, Boyer Candy Co where you shop and add another treat to your bag.  Sweet, now visit salty at Benzel’s Pretzels.  Top the day off with an ice cream cone from the first and original “frozen custard” stand owned by the Meadows family.

MOUNTAIN VIEW INN presents “THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES”..$95.

Charming Green Gables Restaurant in the beautiful Laurel Highlands will host us for lunch (let us know if you prefer Pot Roast or Chicken Cordon Bleu) before our matinee show, “The Marvelous Wonderettes”.  This girl singing group takes you to the 1958 Springfield Prom and entertains with such hits as “Lollipop”, “Lipstick on Your Collar”, “It’s My Party”.

Based on the best-selling novel by Beverly Lewis, The Confession has been transformed into a musical. Playing at the Carlisle Inn in Sugarcreek, Ohio, The Confession is based around Katie Lapp, a young Amish woman who is caught in the middle of secrets and scandal, love lost and love found, and personal heartache and healing. With comedy intertwined into the musical as a New York actress tries to play a "plain" woman, you will enjoy a roller coaster of high and lows mixed with soaring melodies, inspiring lyrics and glorious orchestrations.

BUFFALO, NY GARDEN WALK..$84.

Garden Walk Buffalo is the largest garden tourism event in the nation!!  A local guide will take you to at least three private gardens where you can  meet the generous and friendly gardeners and visit the Buffalo Botanical Gardens, which are housed in one of the few remaining Victorian Conservatories designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, designer of Central Park. Lunch is included at a local family run restaurant.

PITTSBURGH—“FOR THE BIRDS”..$75.

Begin the day at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh where you can encounter rare, exotic and endangered birds from across the globe.  From vibrant songbirds to powerful raptors, each of the birds you uncover is more fascinating and beautiful than the last.  There will be time for lunch on your own at Station Square before taking a 60 minute land and sea ride with Just Ducky Tours aboard that “thing”.  It's an amphibious truck built by General Motors Corporation during WWII for transporting goods and soldiers over land and water.  A ride on the Duquesne Incline to the top of Mount Washington will end the day.

CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW..$42.

This enchanting Victorian Village and National Historic Landmark, center for entertainment and education and summer resort, is a fascinating destination.  The juried craft show on the grounds has over 70 quality exhibitors, but the grounds themselves are worth the trip.  The landscaping, the cottages, the Athenaeum Hotel and the lake are a sight to behold.  A stop will be made before entering the grounds at a local produce market.

JULY 17 – THURS

LIGHTS, CAMERA, PITTSBURGH!..$70.

Upon arrival we’ll board the Duquesne Incline for a ride on the century old funicular and learn about the Pittsburgh-Hollywood connection in such movies as “Flashdance”, “Striking Distance” and “Won’t Back Down” and their behind the scenes stories. Upon arrival back down the mountain we’ll stop by historic Market Square for an overview of “inspector Gadget”, “The Kill Point”, “She’s Out of My League”, and more.  Lunch will be on your own here. After lunch we’ll tour the elegant Omni William Penn Hotel to hear stories of “The Dark Knight Rises”, “The Temptations” and many more.  Traveling on we’ll stop by the Strip District for a biscotti, then PNC Park for a tour of the location of “Abduction”, “Jack Reacher” and more.  Our last stop of the day will be the Fred Rogers Memorial on the North Shore for a photo op.

ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME/ HARD ROCK CAFE..$85.

If you love Rock N Roll, you’ll love this day. We’ll have plenty of time to visit the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame with a chance to see a brand new Beatles display plus five films and tons of rock memorabilia along with a chance to listen to music through the decades.  Dinner will be included at nearby Terminal Tower City at Hard Rock Café and time will be allowed for a little shopping or a little gaming at the new Horseshoe Casino

PUT-N-BAY..$75.

Our day on the shores of Lake Erie will include a ferry ride to historic SOUTH BASS ISLAND.  While there, enjoy the leisurely pace of life on a resort island during the week before the crowds come in for the weekend.  You may wish to take the tram tour around the island to the winery and Crystal Cave, rent a bicycle for the day or just relax.  Lunch is on your own.

JAY LENO in JAMESTOWN, NY at LUCY COMEDY FESTIVAL.$139

Join us for this once in a lifetime opportunity to see Jay Leno do his stand up routine. Departure will be approx. Noon and the admission for the Lucy Museum and DesiLu Studio is included. We should arrive in time to see the World’s Largest Grape Stomping before spending time at the museum. There will be time for dinner either at a local café or from the food vendors, as well as time to enjoy the Comedy Festival events before the main event, Jay Leno!!! Our seats are great. Travel with us to Dunkirk, NY to one of New York’s fastest growing wine festivals.  Held at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, over 28 wineries are represented.  With tasting included with your ticket, they also provide a free wine pick up service, dozens of vendors, wine seminars and food demonstrations, a food court, live music and much more!  Let us do the driving so you can enjoy the tasting!

Whatever your heritage you will appreciate this day, themed to all things Italian.  We’ll travel into Ligonier, PA with a stop at DeLallo’s Italian store en route (be sure to bring your cooler).  Upon arrival at the Ramada Ligonier, we’ll enjoy a delicious Italian buffet followed by a fun filled murder mystery comedy, “Mobsters, Molls and Marinara”.  The fun is not over as after the show, we travel to Uniontown, PA for their 6th annual Italian Fest at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.  With vendors, entertainment, and good Italian food galore, there is something for everyone at this lively festival.

Presenting: SHOJI TABUCHI..$110.

Anyone who has ever been to Branson is familiar with that introduction to the best, most energetic, most high tech show there!  Shoji comes to us in Mentor, Ohio in the Cleveland area.  Lunch will precede the show at the Croation Lodge Ballroom followed by the performance in the Mentor Performing Arts Theater.  Shoji, a violinist, is most well known for his orchestra, showmanship, and sets and special effects.  This is a show worthy of Las Vegas!  Book early.

OHIO DUTCH BROWN BAG TOUR..$84.

Travel to the Ohio Dutch country near Berlin, OH and visit some of our all-time favorite Amish shops.  Stops will be made at Heini’s Cheese, Coblentz Chocolates, Hershberger Bakery and Farmers Market, Swiss Village Bulk Foods, time to shop in Berlin and/ or Zinck’s Fabric Outlet.  Of course a scrumptious Amish buffet lunch is included.  You will receive goodies at each stop and hear interesting facts about the Amish from our step on guide.

SEPTEMBER 20 – SAT

COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL..$68.

Traveling south to the Washington, PA area, our first stop will be for a home cooked country breakfast (brunch) buffet at The Spring House, a country store and creamery where we will also have a little time to tour the farm and shop and receive a “sweet treat”.   The Ebenezer Church Covered Bridge will be our next stop with over 100 craft vendors, 50 food vendors and country music by “Stoney Brooks”. A special exhibit by the Covered Bridge society of PA is also available for viewing at this site.  Stops at Tanger Outlets with a coupon book and Sarris A stop at TheToffee House, featured on the food network, for a treat for the ride home will round out the day.

FROM FORTUNES TO FARM, a day in LAWRENCE COUNTY..$70.

Many residents of Lawrence County don’t realize how special this place we call home can be.  Breakaway has been hosting groups from out of town to experience all that we have here, so if you are from New Castle, this may be a new look at what you see every day. If not, this is a chance to discover a hidden gem.  We’ll start with a guided tour of the Scottish Rite Cathedral, one of the largest in the country. Susan Linville, author of “Mansions of New Castle” will join us next to share some of the history of the Historic North Hill.  Lunch will be at the Crane Room and we’ll hear some history of this building.  After lunch, we’ll stop at the Apple Castle to speak with the Johnson family and a stop at the Cheese House will be made.   Here our formerly Amish guide will join us to point out Amish farms and talk about what it’s like in “the life”.  Our last stop will include free time to browse in Volant before our return.

CLARION AUTUMN LEAF FESTIVAL/ SAWMILL CENTER..$40.

Our day begins at the well-known craft show at the annual Autumn Leaf Festival in Clarion, PA.  Hundreds of vendors and food booths are set up for your enjoyment and shopping.  This afternoon we will drive through Cook’s Forest to the Sawmill Center of the Arts.  Browse through one of a kind items at this juried shop of handcrafted treasures.  We will end the day by visiting a local winery.

SEPTEMBER 27 – SAT

MT. PLEASANT GLASS / ETHNIC FESTIVAL/FALLINGWATER..65.

Come to the scenic Laurel Highlands to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house built for the Kaufman family over a waterfall.  Our afternoon will be spent at THE 26th annual Glass and Ethnic Festival in downtown Mt. Pleasant.  We’ll park at the nearby Lennox Outlet and be shuttled back and forth, so you’ll have a chance to do some outlet shopping as well as enjoy the many vendors, the glass demonstrations, entertainment and the ethnic food.

FRANKLIN APPLEFEST/ OC & T RAILROAD..$52.

Spend the day at one of Western Pennsylvania’s favorite and fastest growing festivals.  We spend the day at Franklin’s Applefest.   This festival has been growing yearly and boasts over 300 vendors, food booths and farmer’s market.  We complete the day with a scenic one hour train ride aboard the Oil Creek and Titusville RR Through the “valley that changed the world”.

Travel into the Allegheny National Forest Region to view spectacular fall foliage in Pennsylvania’s ONLY National Forest.  “Walk the Tracks Across the Sky” on the new Kinzua SkyWalk which was built on the renovated towers of the historic Kinzua Viaduct.   Tour the Zippo/Case Museum filled with innovative designs and artwork that made the Zippo name world famous.  Drive along the Longhouse Scenic Drive, named one of the top 50 scenic drives in the US and stop at the Kinzua Dam for breathtaking views. WESTERN MARYLAND SCENIC RAIL ROAD..$90.

Our coach will deliver us to Cumberland, Maryland, for a round trip ride on Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s “Mountain Thunder” steam train.  The Helmstetter’s Horseshoe Curve, Brush Tunnel, a mile long gorge and much more, will highlight your route through the gorgeous autumn foliage.  Upon arrival in Frostburg, 1,300 feet up, you will enjoy a box lunch, see the train engine turned on the turntable and browse the gift shops before it’s “all aboard” for the return trip.  Time will be allowed in Cumberland to visit the blanket outlet before stopping at Slick’s Ivy Stone in Osterburg, PA for dinner.
