The MACKINAC ISLAND LILAC FESTIVAL continues to be one of the top events in the country. Join us for a fresh version of one of our most popular tours!! Travel the first day will take us to Mackinaw City. A ferry ride to Mackinac Island will take us to the Island House Hotel, where we will be staying for the next two nights. This lovely Hotel is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels on Mackinac Island. On the second day we will board horse drawn carriages for a tour around the island and through the hundreds of fragrant lilacs. Lunch is included at the fabulous Grand Hotel. The evening is free to enjoy some of the activities available during the festival. Don’t forget to sample the famous Mackinac Island fudge. You will be hooked!! We depart the island the next morning for some time and lunch on your own at Mackinaw Crossings. Enroute to the Thunder Bay Resort, a stop will be made at The Cross in the Woods National Shrine. Shortly after checking into our hotel at the Thunder Bay Resort, carriages pulled by massive horses take us thru the forest in search of Bull Elk with massive antlers. On to the Elk Antler Log Cabin for a superb 5-course gourmet dinner prepared before you on antique wood stoves by the owner of the resort while your guides provide entertainment. This is an unforgettable experience! Following breakfast at the resort we depart for home. Our travels today will include a stop in Frankenmuth, Mi and Bronners Christmas Store.

The New England style specialty stops fill the town with charm and great shopping continues at the Outlets via the free shuttle. The renovations at the Atlantic Sands Hotel, right on the boardwalk, were completed in February of 2008. All rooms include, a refrigerator, microwave, iron & board, sink, coffee maker and hair dryer. Call to join us for a whole week at the beach!! This tour is staying at the beachfront Best Western Oceanfront Inn with both indoor and outdoor pools. All rooms have ocean front balconies and refrigerators. Our June trip will offer an optional shuttle to Busch Gardens or Williamsburg (admission not included) and an optional shuttle will be offered on the August trip one evening to the new Towne Center in Virginia Beach that has over 20 restaurants including the popular Cheesecake Factory, McCormick and Schmick, Gordon Biersch Micro Brewery and many more. HRT, the public transit system, offers easy, inexpensive access to Norfolk for those wishing to visit McArthur Center, Waterside or the Nauticus Naval Museum Center. The Wave (trolley) offers transportation along Atlantic Ave and to Oceana Naval Air Base or to the Virginia National Aquarium, as well as to Lynnhaven Mall. Virginia Beach gives you the maximum amount of entertainment for your dollar. Beach Street USA in August provides free entertainment every evening on five outdoor stages and on the street from 17th St. to 25th St. You can hear everything from Gospel to Rap and see magic and puppet shows. This trip was a great success last year, and with a few small changes we are presenting it again. Our first day’s travel will take us to the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival, filled with over 200 hand picked craftsmen and women, fine foods and wonderful entertainment. Next on the agenda will be a visit to Harper’s Ferry National Park to see the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers and experience the historic village. We’ll be heading north to spend our overnight in Gettysburg and our included dinner will be at historic Dobbin House Restaurant. Saturday will begin with a guided battlefield tour and the remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy the new Visitor Center complete with the renovated Diorama of the Battle of Gettysburg. The central location here will allow you to get lunch at a place of your choice and do a little souvenir shopping before departure if you wish. Immerse yourself in the past and enjoy the present!
