Visit New York City, THE BIG APPLE, for the best in shopping, dining, shows and sightseeing. As everyone knows, the cost of staying in Manhattan continues to escalate. We are committed, however, to continue to stay on the island, as we feel this is TRULY a visit to New York City. We have tried to keep the cost down as much as possible, but, sadly, must raise it for 2009 to reflect the hotel and motor coach costs we are experiencing. Broadway show prices are also on the rise, although periodically throughout the year we are able to obtain discounts. It is for this reason we are not featuring a show this year, with the exception of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, but will be happy to help anyone wishing to purchase show tickets, at the best price available. Check www.broadway.com for available show listings. On all trips you will have free time to visit Ellis Island and to see the Statue of Liberty if you wish. Saturday is free all day for you to enjoy the city. A ticket for a Double Decker Bus narrated city tour with 22 stops will be sold by our escort on board the coach to those who are interested for approximately $39 per person. Sunday morning, we will stop to see the construction at Ground Zero, and our coach will take us to Canal Street in China Town and Little Italy for bargain shopping and to Grand Central Station for a lunch stop in colder weather and South Street Seaport in the warm months. Departure from the city will be 2:00 P.M. with a dinner stop at Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA and late evening arrival home. We continue to use the Travel Inn on 42nd St. at 10th Ave. This is a clean modest property that is close to Time’s Square and is working out beautifully. The neighborhood is pleasant and filled with restaurants and there is an outdoor pool for summer use. We hope you agree that it is worth the price to stay in the city, but we are also offering two dates, (July and September) with accommodations in nearby New Jersey for the budget conscious. We will strive on these two trips to give you the maximum time possible in Manhattan, although traffic into the city is a factor. Breakfast will be included on these two dates. You will notice that we are continuing to present a trip in June with three overnights. The city is so popular right now and so remarkably clean and user friendly. We hope there is a date that suits you. Don’t forget that our staff is available to help you select and purchase any Broadway or other show tickets you wish and to give you any advice about the city you may need.
