payment & Departure

We want to keep everything simple for you to enjoy your time off. Let us know if you have any questions on the below. 

MAIL IN YOUR PAYMENT: MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: BREAKAWAY TOURS, 2103 Wilmington Rd., New Castle, PA   16105. Please use a reservation form with your mailed payments or enclose a note stating the purpose of the payment. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.   We hope to establish on line payments soon.   


YOUR PAYMENT CONFIRMS YOUR RESERVATION: No seats are held without payment.  If we are turning customers away and we have not received your payment, your name will be removed from the reservation list.


MULTIPLE DAY TOURS: $75. Deposit required within 5 days of booking.

BALANCES: All balances are due 30 days prior to departure of the tour unless otherwise indicated at the time of booking. WE DO NOT SEND NOTICES OF BALANCE DUE: NOTE that all balances and TOUR PROTECTION PAYMENTS are due AT LEAST 30 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.      


REFUNDS are given if a cancellation is made 30 days prior to departure. No refunds are given if made within the 30 days from departure, unless we are able to resell your seat or you have purchased cancellation protection.    

CANCELLATION PROTECTION: The cost is $10., per person per day, effective 30 days prior to departure.   Multiply the number of days of your tour by $10 and enclose with your final payment.   This protection must be purchased 30 days prior to departure.   You may cancel your tour for ANY reason.  Notification of cancellation must be made before the tour departs. Certain tours, as indicated in the description, may require a higher payment.  

CANCELLATION AND TRIP INTERRUPTION INSURANCE FOR TOURS OVER $700 PER PERSON: The amount for insurance will be posted with those tours, and is payable no later than 30 days prior to the tour.  You will receive a policy detailing reasons for cancellation that are acceptable and the proof required.  Repayment upon cancellation will be received no earlier than 4 to 6 weeks after the claim is filed.  This will be through Travel Insured International.


DEPARTURES: Scheduled departures are from New Castle, PA, Boardman, OH,  and Chippewa, PA. on some tours.    You may occasionally be asked to drive to a different pick up point if the count is low at your place of choice.  

BREAKAWAY TOURS provides an Experienced Tour Director on each public tour. Their function on the tour is your safety and comfort and emergency management, as well as attending to the logistics of the tour.  GRATUITIES FOR THE TOUR DIRECTOR AND DRIVER ARE GIVEN AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND ARE APPRECIATED! (Two dollars per person per day , minimum, is suggested.)


ATTENTION GROUPS!!! -  Any destination your group is interested in can be specially planned just for you!! Private group tours are led by the group leader unless an escort is requested.  With a smaller group you may wish to join one of our scheduled tour at a scheduled pick up.
