ELK COUNTY & THE GRAND CANYON OF PA

OCTOBER 18-19       2 DAYS/1 NIGHT

This tour takes you to some of the most interesting and beautiful spots in Pennsylvania. On the first day we arrive in historic Bradford, PA in time for lunch at a place of your choice. The afternoon will be spent touring the Zippo/Case Museum learning the history of these Made in America products and the Kinzua Bridge State Park.  The 339-acre Kinzua Bridge State Park is the home of the reinvented Kinzua Viaduct. The Viaduct, once the longest and tallest railroad structure, was partially destroyed by a tornado during 2003 and

reinvented as a pedestrian walkway during 2011. Then it’s off to Benezette, PA, the home of the largest Elk herd in Northeastern United States. Dinner and entertainment await us at the new Visitors Center before we head off with our local guide for a chance to see these majestic animals in their own habitat.  We overnight in nearby Clearfield, PA. The next day we head east to the Grand Canyon of PAwhere we will board horse-drawn covered wagons to ride along the Pine Creek Rail Trail and listen to tour guides tell the tale of the history of the Canyon.  Time is allowed for lunch and shopping on Wellsboro, Pa’s charming main street. Enjoy the spectacular view from the Leonard Harrison State Park Overlook.  Come along and enjoy the beauty of one of our home states.
