THE PEACEFUL SIDE OF THE SMOKIES

SEPTEMBER 19-22 4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS

Were you wondering what all your families experienced in their travels to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee during the pandemic?  Well, this is your chance to find out without all the hiking and climbing they probably experienced.  Our first day’s travel takes us to Pigeon Forge, TN to check in to the beautiful Country Cascades Resort Hotel for our three-night stay.  This evening you will enjoy dinner at Applewood Farmhouse followed by “Country Tonight”, a fast-paced variety and music show with a touch of traditional Pigeon Forge entertainment.  Our next day begins with breakfast included at Grandma’s Kitchen at the hotel followed by a thrilling ride on Pink Jeep Tours, heated, enclosed jeeps holding 4 passengers each.  Our journey winds through the newly opened section of the Foothills Parkway through Wears Valley, Townsend and into Great Smoky National Park.  You will thrill to the panoramic views from the highest mountains in the park.  Lunch will be included in Townsend at the Apple Valley Café.  Next, we will board tour vans to explore Cades Cove and the early settlements of the park and learn about history, the plant life and see wildlife plentiful here as we visit the Heritage Center. Black Bears, white tail deer and much more are indigenous to the park.  Dinner will be included at the charming Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro, followed by a special sunset music performance at the Amphitheater @ Heritage Center.  Day three begins after breakfast with yet another exciting Smoky Mountain attraction, Anakeesta.  You will board your choice of an enclosed or open Chondola to the top of the mountain to enjoy a walk-in beautiful Vista Gardens, or on Tree Top Skywalk along several hanging bridges or you may wish to climb Anavista Tower for a bird’s eye view of Gatlinburg.  There will be time for lunch and shopping here at Cliff Top Black Bear Village.  After lunch it’s on to spend the rest of our day and early evening at Dollywood to enjoy the rides, crafts and shows here at the showplace of the Smokies.  A dinner voucher will be included.  After one more deluxe mountain breakfast on day four, we set our sights northward with fond memories of the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
