About the event

WASHINGTON D.C.--CHERRY BLOSSOM TIME

APRIL 2-3  2 DAYS/ 1 NIGHT

We will be staying in nearby Alexandria, VA this year. Our nation’s capitol in the spring is a sight to behold, whether Mother Nature decides to grace us with a cherry blossom display, or not. If the thousands of Japanese cherry trees surrounding the tidal basin are not in bloom, the magnolias, tulips, pansies and a host of other blossoms will be in evidence. Throughout our two day stay we’ll see the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials as well as the Jefferson, Martin Luther King and World War II Memorials and we’ll view the White House, Capitol and Washington Monument without going inside. On Sunday morning we’ll stop by the Iwo Jima Memorial ,the Air Force & pentagon 9/11 Memorials time permitting, and have time in Arlington National Cemetery. The highlight of our day will be a family style included luncheon at Carmine’s legendary restaurant. A stop at the Smithsonian Institution museum of your choice will round out the afternoon and return will be mid evening. .
