Join us in the city this year since the 4th is back on the weekend!! Our host is the Wellington Hotel on 55th and 7th with a location ideal to get to any of the vantage points to see the acclaimed fireworks over the Brooklyn Bridge and on the East River.  This is an economic time to visit and, aside from the fireworks, the crowds are down as the locals enjoy the weekend elsewhere!  Note that most shows are not performing on the 4th however, so if you want to catch a show, it should be Friday night.  We can help you purchase those tickets, usually at a discount.  Saturday is free for you to enjoy and you may even wish to take the nearby subway out to Coney Island for the famous Nathan’s hot dog eating contest and some beach time!  Sunday morning we’ll do our usual drop off in downtown near Ground Zero or at Battery Park for those wishing to see the Statue of Liberty, or any of the other attractions filling this up and coming area.  Departure will be 1:30 P.M. with an approximate return time of 11:00 P.M.  Celebrate the 4th in style!!

JULY 7-8 - (2 DAYS/ 1 NIGHT)

Our first day will be spent at The Ark Encounter, a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old.    After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel we are off to Lebanon, OH for a   train ride aboard the historic Turtle Creek Valley Flyer through Warren County, OH.  This 1930’s Pullman style car is part of the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad and we have deluxe seating in one of the air conditioned cars!!   Lunch is included at The Golden Lamb Inn, Ohio’s oldest hotel.  This hotel, established in 1803, has hosted many Presidents and celebrities through the years.

JULY 15-18 - (4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS)

This nearby state is often overlooked as we travel through to other destinations.  This tour showcases the best that Connecticut has to offer as a destination in itself.  Our first day’s travel will take us to picturesque Waterford, CT where we will check in to our hotel for three nights after a stop for dinner.  Tomorrow we will head to nearby Essex to board the Essex Steam Train for a scenic ride and lunch in a restored 1920’s Pullman Dining Car.  Your meal will be prepared in the Colonial Hearth kitchen car, built for the US Army in 1953 to provide in transit meals.  Arriving at Deep River Landing we will go from the train to the Becky Thatcher, a Mississippi style river boat for a one hour and 15 minute cruise. We will see such sights as the Gillette Castle and the Haddam Swing Bridge. Return will be  in time to visit the famed Mystic Seaport Museum, complete with a recreated Seaport Village inside as well as many famous sailing ships that are in dry dock or are operational   Dinner will be included next door.  Day three will begin with a ride on the high speed ferry from New London, CT to one of America’s last unspoiled locations, Block Island, just off the coast.  This wonderful beach community offers unique shopping and dining, several beaches and hiking trails.  With time to explore and have lunch, our return to the mainland will be mid afternoon.  After a chance to relax, our evening will be at the charming shops and restaurants that make up Mystic Village. Dinner will be here at a place of your choice.  With a morning departure on day four, we’ll stop mid day at Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA for some shopping and dining and arrive home early evening.

JULY 21-23 - (3 DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS)

Our first stop will be the charming town of Lititz, Pa. This amazing town was voted as one of America’s Coolest Small Towns. Here we will have time for touring at Sturgis Pretzel Company as well as a visit to Wilbur Chocolate’s retail store. Then, you are free to explore the other shops and choose a restaurant for dinner. After your fill of small-town life, we will head to American Music Theater for their original production “Britain’s Best” with music from The Beatles to Ed Sheeran and Adele. This trip would make for a fun girls’ trip or getaway with your grandchildren as there is something for everyone! Our overnight is at the Country Inn of Lancaster. After an included American Buffet breakfast, we will explore Kitchen Kettle Village to browse homemade jams and jellies as well as cute boutiques and housewares. We depart very early morning and drive straight through to Myrtle Beach.  Yes, it is a long day but the reward will be checking into an oceanfront efficiency room at the Dayton House Resort.  The amenities at the resort include  indoor/ outdoor pools, saunas, Jacuzzis, Lazy River Tube Ride, fitness room, 24 hour coffee service, free wireless internet, Yella Umbrella poolside bar & grille and an oceanfront lawn stocked with over 70 yellow umbrellas, picnic tables and lounge chairs.  Every day a great Breakfast  Buffet is included right across the street in the Rose Room. The hotel, in addition to being oceanfront, has an indoor pool and we have arranged access to two different outdoor pools.  HRT, the public transit system, offers easy, inexpensive access to Norfolk for those wishing to visit MacArthur Center, Waterside or the Nauticus Naval Museum Center. If you visited Chicago to see Hamilton and wished you had another night in the city, your wish has been granted!  Our downtown Hampton Inn will put you within easy reach of the great shopping on the Magnificent Mile, near the beautiful beach of Lake Michigan, the world class museums, and all that the Windy City has to offer.  Upon arrival we’ll ascend the Hancock Tower to 360 Chicago.  If you are feeling adventurous, you may upgrade your ticket to include TILT that will actually tilt you out high over the streets!  After check in, the evening is yours to enjoy.  Saturday  morning and early afternoon are free for you to explore, and then we will join a step on guide on our coach for the “Untouchable Tour” to get the inside story of Chicago’s windiest politicians, rollicking red light districts and notorious mobsters such as Capone, Dillinger and Moran!  What a contrast to today’s modern, beautiful city!  You will be given the password this evening to Tommy Gun’s Garage, a dinner show with great food and entertainment by Molls and Mugs.  It’s a blast!  Sunday morning we’ll stop by beautiful Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate, a sculpture known as The Bean, before heading to Navy Pier for lunch and browsing.  A stop at Tony Packos, of Mash fame will be made for dinner enroute home.

This beautiful trip is the closest we have to European charm on the North American continent. Our first day’s travels will take us to Canada’s capital, Ottawa, bisected beautifully by the Rideau Canal.  Our hotel will be Ramada Manoir adjacent to the Casino Remy.    In the morning we’ll board a boat for a narrated city tour on the St. Lawrence River, followed by time for lunch at a place of your choice in the eclectic Byward Market in downtown Ottawa.  After lunch we will depart for our overnight in the charming and scenic ski village of Mt. Tremblant.    Dinner will be at a place of your choice in this wonderful mountain village, and if you choose, you may ascend the mountain in a gondola for a spectacular view of the Laurentian Mountains and the lake, Lac Des Sables. Next morning in Montreal, we will have a step on guide with us to experience the Notre Dame Basilica, see Ste Catherine St., Mount Royal, the Underground, and much more. Lunch will be at a place of your choice in Montreal’s Old Port, with departure for the Quebec City area in the afternoon.  Our resort hotel is near the 1st Nation Native American village, Wendake Huron village.  We will stop here for the unique experience of dining family style (included) at the La Traite Restaurant on the lowest level of the Hotel Musee Premiers Nations.  All facets of nature are used in the décor of the restaurant.  Check in to our nearby Doubletree  Resort for a three night stay  will follow.  Next morning we’ll set out for historic old town Quebec for a guided city tour followed by lunch included at the fabulous, castle like Le Frontenac high on the hill.  The remainder of our day and early evening will be free in Old Town Quebec.   Next morning will find us on the Old King’s Road with a stop at the famous Shrine of Sainte Anne de Beaupre’. This extraordinary stop will awe you with its masterpieces of religious art. Next up is a stop at 150 year old Marie’s Breadoven for a slice of the famous bread with maple butter.  Before lunch there will be a stop at Gilles family Copper Shop and Museum.  Lunch will be at a Sugar Shack on the beautiful Isle of Orleans.  This will be the traditional stick to your ribs fare enjoyed by the maple sugar workers, of course with crepes and maple syrup for dessert!!  This afternoon our travels will take us to nearby Montmorency Falls, 1 & ½ times higher than Niagara, for a ride on the Cable Car with an amazing view.  Upon our return you may dine at your leisure at our resort this evening or there is an hourly shuttle to Old Town.   Our last morning we’ll depart for  Syracuse, NY, where our beautiful new Embassy Suites is within walking distance of the shopping and entertainment at Destiny USA.  Dinner will be here at a place of your choice from Cheesecake Factory to Gordon Biersch to TGI Fridays.  You may shop, dine, and catch an IMAX movie or whatever your heart desires.  After our buffet breakfast, on our last morning, en route to our return we will stop at Genesee Country Village and Museum to tour this extraordinary 19th century living history village full of homes and shops with costumed interpreters.  A deli lunch will be included here before we complete our journey home, with an early evening departure.  Just think of all you will have seen and experienced!!

LANCASTER “Esther”, Victorian Tea, Sturgis Pretzel


It’s back to picturesque Lancaster, PA to see the latest blockbuster “Esther” based in the opulent Persian Empire, where her great beauty takes her from an ordinary life to the palace, where she becomes queen. After our lunch stop at Kitchen Kettle Village, we’ll see the afternoon show “Esther” at Sight & Sound Theater. After the show will be an Amish style feast and shopping at nearby Hershey Farms, followed by check in to The Country Inn of Lancaster. After breakfast on our second day we will head over to Mt Hope Mansion for a Victorian Tea. We will be greeted by Miss Daisy dressed in her Victorian finest upon entering the beautiful mansion. After a lesson in etiquette, Miss Daisy will share the story of her family’s mansion, while the group enjoys delectable finger sandwiches, soup and dessert all topped off with a spot of tea! Then we will head to one of the most charming towns in America, Lititz, PA. Here we will tour the Sturgis Pretzel Company and Wilbur Chocolate retail store, followed by free time to explore this little town.

If you want to visit the hottest city in America, and stay at the best hotel there, then this is your tour!! Fabulous Gaylord Opryland will host us for this 3 night stay in Country Music’s showplace, Nashville, TN.  Our first day’s travel will take us to Gaylord Opryland where we will check in and have a chance to spend the evening exploring the fabulous gardens, dining at one of the multiple restaurants, shopping or just sitting back and enjoying the lap of luxury that is this hotel.  If you want to head downtown for some Honky Tonk action, there is a shuttle or public transportation easily obtainable.  Our first full day will include a special treat, a tour of RCA Studio B, Nashville’s oldest remaining recording studio where the likes of Waylon Jennings. Chet Atkins and Connie Francis first recorded.  After a tour we will gather round the mike with a sound engineer to make our own recording.  A tour of Nashville to include admission to the Ryman Auditorium will follow, with plenty of time for lunch and music on North Broadway, the Honky Tonk Highway, where countless stars have their clubs.  This evening we’ll travel to nearby Nashville Nightlife for dinner and a live country music show.  The following morning we’ll head back downtown for a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame followed by more time for barbeque and music.  With a mid afternoon return to the hotel, this evening we will depart in time for dinner at a place of your choice in Opry Mills Mall before the highlight of the evening, the show at the Grand Ole Opry!!  After another great breakfast on Wednesday, we’ll set our sights north, but with a stop at Fourth Street Live in Louisville to get lunch at a place of your choice and perhaps sample some of their famous Bourbon!  What a rollicking good time!!!
