Sight and Sound’s “Esther” based in the opulent Persian empire, where her great beauty takes her from an ordinary life to the palace, where she becomes queen. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must. Our trip will begin with a stop at Crackerbarrel for lunch on your own followed by the afternoon production of “Esther”. Dinner is included following the show at Hershey Farms Restaurant. Following that we will head to the Country Inn of Lancaster for the night. After breakfast the following day we will head to Kitchen Kettle Village showcasing their 40 plus shops featuring homemade jams, jellies and baked goods. Next up will be the musical, “Saturday Night Fever”, telling the story of a young man who dreams of dancing, with lunch included at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.

The beauty of the Mountain State awaits with this itinerary that highlights scenic excursion train rides on both vintage diesel and steam locomotives.  We begin our day in Durbin, WV aboard the vintage steam train, The Durbin Rocket for a 2 hour ride along the picturesque Greenbrier River in rural West Virginia.  We travel onto Elkins, WV and check into the hotel before enjoying dinner and a Branson style show at The Gandy Dancer Theater.  The next morning, after a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we depart on the New Tygart Flyer.  This wilderness excursion features mountain grades, an “S” curve tunnel, a high bridge and miles of unspoiled mountain views. Vintage diesel-powered locomotives climb along the cascading Shavers Fork of the Cheat River to the High Falls of Cheat. Enjoy the view relaxing aboard our comfortable climate controlled passenger coaches.  Buffet lunch is included on the train.  Depart for home following the train ride.

HUDSON RIVER VALLEY/ WEST POINT Featuring the GREAT JACK O’LANTERN BLAZE

This is the perfect time of year to visit the scenic Hudson Valley, just north of New York City, but a different world. Every group has loved this autumn extravaganza. We’ll travel into Fishkill, NY to check into the Quality Inn for our two overnight stay.  Our first evening will include the highlight of the tour, The Great Jack O Lantern Blaze at historic Van Cortland Manor near Sleepy Hollow, NY. Saturday morning we’ll have a chance to take a stroll on The Walkway  Over the Hudson, the longest pedestrian bridge in the USA.  Imagine the lovely fall foliage!  Lunch will be included at beautiful  Shadows on the Hudson, overlooking the Hudson River.  This afternoon we’ll take in the sights at Washington Irving’s home, Sunnyside, to see the Legend of Sleepy Hollow exhibit.  You will see how this legend has lived on to imbue the Halloween spirit in generation after generation.  On our way back to the hotel, we will stop at the world renowned outlet mall, Woodbury Commons for a little shopping and a chance for a bite to eat.   Sunday morning we’ll set out for West Point to enjoy a guided tour of the Military Academy grounds followed by a sumptuous champagne brunch included at the beautiful Thayer Hotel with incredible views of the river and the academy.  This meal features unlimited Mimosa and Bloody Mary’s.

NOVEMBER 15-21 - (7 DAYS/6 NIGHTS)

From the Smokies, to the Ozarks and back, this trip is action packed!! Our first night will find us in the picturesque town of Pigeon Forge, TN.  On our way in we will drive though the fabulous Christmas light display at Shadrack’s, followed by dinner included at Applewood before check in to our hotel.  Our next day will start with a tour of Ole Smoky Moonshine Barn, with plenty of time to explore the new Island shopping and dining.  You may wish to have lunch at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen here.  This afternoon we’ll see our first boat, with a tour of The Titanic Museum.  This is an actual replica of the doomed ship and you will assume the identity of one of the passengers.  Find out whether you were one of the lucky survivors.  Dinner will be included at The Old Mill with a bit of  time to explore the Old Mill Square.  This evening we will be treated to the Christmas Show at Count  Tonight!  Next morning,after our included breakfast, we will head to Bush’s Beans Visitor Center for a tour, time in the gift shop and lunch included, with some of their delicious recipes!  Then it’s onward to Music City, USA, Nashville, TN.  We will arrive at our downtown hotel in time for the Drury Inn’s “Kick Back”, a reception including plenty of food and beverages.  You will be within easy walking distance to North Broadway, Nashville’s Honky Tonk Highway where the streets are lined with clubs owned by country music’s biggest stars, such as Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley all with live entertainment and no cover charge.  After our night in Nashville, you can relax as we ride to the Live Music Capitol, Branson, MO.  Our check in to Grand Country Inn will be in time to enjoy their dinner buffet (included) followed by the evening show at their theater, Grand Jubilee’s Christmas Show.   Our second day here will begin with the wonderful breakfast buffet, followed by a tour and tasting at Curling Vine Winery.  Lunch will find us at our second boat, The Showboat Branson Belle, complete with a wonderful show while we cruise Table Rock Lake.  After docking, there will be time at Branson Landing, the newest complex here, complete with Bass Pro Outdoor World, many shops and restaurants and dancing fountains!!  Dinner will be here at a place of your choice.  Our evening show will be The Haygoods Christmas Show.  Whew!!!  Next morning after breakfast, we’ll head to downtown Louisville, KY.  Our downtown hotel will be close enough to walk to 4th St. Live to experience some of the live music featured here nightly and to dine at a place of your choice.   The joint is jumping here, with even a Jim Beam Still House open for touring.  After our included breakfast, we will visit our last “boat”, The Ark Encounter.  Whether or not you have seen this marvel, it is worth a look.  An exact replica of Noah’s Ark and its contents, this ever-changing attraction has to be seen to be believed.  Lunch will be included here at Emzara’s before we head for our return.  Arrival back will be mid evening.  What an adventure!!!  Don’t miss this one!

We depart this morning and head south; our first overnight is near Columbia, SC.   Travel this morning to Beaufort, SC where we will tour this unique small southern town including the Marine Corps base, Parris Island.   Traveling on to Savannah, GA we will stay for the next two nights right on the beach of Tybee Island.  Our stay in the area will include time to experience the famous cobblestone River Street, relive history on a guided city tour, dine at Paula Deen’s newest restaurant, Creekhouse,   and a dinner cruise aboard the Savannah River Queen.  A tour of the iconic Tybee Island Light Station and Museum is also included.  Day 3 we will board Amtrak’s Palmetto Express for a two hour train ride to Charleston, SC where our motor coach will be waiting.  Lunch and some shopping time are on your own at the City Market following the tour.  Before leaving the area we will visit   Boone Hall Plantation, one of America’s oldest working plantations. Boone Hall is not handicap accessible.  We begin our travels home with an overnight near Columbia, SC.   This is a truly elegant tour of some of the South’s most charming towns.

WASHINGTON D.C.--CHERRY BLOSSOM TIME

MARCH 27-28, 2021 - (2 DAYS/ 1 NIGHT)

We will be staying in nearby Alexandria, VA this year. Our nation’s capitol in the spring is a sight to behold, whether Mother Nature decides to grace us with a cherry blossom display, or not.  If the thousands of Japanese cherry trees surrounding the tidal basin are not in bloom, the magnolias, tulips, pansies and a host of other blossoms will be in evidence.  Throughout our two day stay we’ll see the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials as well as the Jefferson, Martin Luther King and World War II Memorials and we’ll view the White House, Capitol and Washington Monument without going inside.  On Sunday morning we’ll stop by the Iwo Jima Memorial ,the Air Force Memorial, time permitting, and have time in Arlington National Cemetery.  The highlight of our day will be a family style included luncheon at Carmine’s legendary restaurant.  A stop at the Smithsonian Institution museum of your choice will round out the afternoon and return will be mid evening.
