SUMMER IN MAINE AND MORE!!
AUGUST 25-30, 2024 6 DAYS/ 5 NIGHTS
Our first day of travel we’ll overnight in Connecticut. The next day will be spent exploring Portsmouth, NH, a unique seacoast town on the Piscataquis River dating back to the 1800’s. A box lunch will be provided on board a 4-hour whale watch cruise, followed by a delicious lobster dinner, included at a nearby restaurant-YUM! Day 3 will take us to charming Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Enjoy the ambiance of the town, which retains the atmosphere of an old New England village. While here we will also visit the famed Maine Botanical Garden. This afternoon we set sail on a Lighthouse, Seal and Lobster Trap cruise. Dinner is included enroute to Brunswick, ME for our overnight stay. The next day it is on to FORT WILLIAMS PARK on CASCO BAY in Cape Elizabeth, ME for an up-close visit to the iconic PORTLAND HEAD LIGHTHOUSE. Lunch is on your own in historic PORTLAND, ME. This afternoon we make our way to Kennebunkport, ME. Time is allowed to explore and have dinner on your own before moving on to our overnight stay in Salem, MA at the famous Hawthorne Hotel, said to be haunted. After breakfast at the hotel, we will tour the Salem Witch Museum, enjoy a guided tour of this fascinating city and stroll Pickering Wharf. It’s on to Connecticut to overnight and stop for some shopping and dining time in picturesque waterfront Mystic, CT. Here is your chance to try some iconic Mystic Pizza!! Day six finds us heading for home through the beautiful Pennsylvania foliage.
