The groups for the last two years have wished for more time in this scenic slice of the country, so we have added a night, featuring the best that Connecticut has to offer.   Our first day’s travel will take us to picturesque Waterford, CT where we will check in to our hotel for four nights. Our next morning will begin with a visit to famed Mystic Seaport Museum, complete with a recreated Seaport Village inside as well as many famous sailing ships that are in dry dock or are operational.  Lunch will be here at a place of your choice.  Early afternoon will include a visit to the Mystic Aquarium followed by time for shopping and dining at Olde Mystic Village. Tomorrow we will head to nearby Essex to board the Essex Steam Train for a scenic ride and a three-course lunch served in a restored 1920’s Pullman Dining Car.   Arriving at Deep River Landing we will go from the train to the Becky Thatcher, a Mississippi style river boat for a one hour and 15-minute cruise. We will see such sights as Gillette Castle and the Haddam Swing Bridge.  Dinner will be on your own in scenic downtown Mystic.  Friday will begin with   a ride on the early high-speed ferry from New London, CT to one of America’s last unspoiled locations, Block Island, just off the coast.  This wonderful beach community, known as the “Bermuda of the North” will charm you.  Upon arrival we will board a luxury coach for a one-hour tour of the island, followed by lunch included at the historic National Hotel, followed by free time to do a bit of exploring before our return ferry. We’ll return in time for a drop off at Mohegan Sun Casino for a bit of gaming and dinner at a place of your choice.   With a morning departure on day five, we’ll stop midday at Wind Creek Casino & Outlet complex for lunch and some gaming or shopping.
