The Music Trail
NOVEMBER 2-8 7 DAYS/6 NIGHTS
Join us as we celebrate this trail of music throughout the south!! Our first day’s travels will take us through Kentucky where we will make a brief stop at Jim Beam’s historic distillery for shopping (tasting for a fee) before we check in the fabulous Drury Inn in Bowling Green, KY. We should arrive for their famous kickback with dinner included and drinks for 50 cents each. Day two, after a full breakfast, will find us at Graceland, the historic complex where Elvis made his home. Here we will have the Elvis Experience to include a mansion tour, the Elvis Entertainment Museums, his private planes, and a voucher for lunch in the food court. Later this afternoon we’ll check into the Comfort Inn Downtown Memphis, on the Mississippi River, a short trolley ride or walk to Beale Street. This evening is yours to enjoy the music and barbeque. Next morning after an included breakfast, our travels will take us deeper into the south, with lunch included at the iconic Iron Horse Cafe with time to explore the free wax museum detailing the history of music in Mississippi. Later this afternoon our check in will be in the heart of historic New Orleans, Louisiana at the brand-new Hampton Inn French Market. As stated in the name, the hotel is just at the edge of the French Market and steps from either Frenchman Street, teaming with music clubs, or the French Quarter for music, libations, touring and shopping. This evening dinner will be included at Mulate’s, with Cajun dancing while we dine. Tomorrow after a guided tour of the city to include St. Louis Cemetery #3 and City Park, our included jazz brunch will be in the courtyard of the Court of II Sisters in the heart of the French Quarter. Your afternoon will be free to explore the French Market, or to tour the WWII Museum, St. Louis Cathedral, The Audubon Aquarium, Ceasars Casino, or whatever takes your fancy. Dinner this evening will be at a place of your choice Tomorrow morning Houmas House Sugar Plantation will be our host for a tour of the gracious home and its unbelievable grounds and an included gracious southern luncheon. Your afternoon will be free before our evening dinner cruise aboard the Natchez Paddle-Wheeler, on the mighty Mississippi. Reluctantly, following breakfast in the morning, we’ll begin our journey northward, but the fun is not over yet! We’ll have a taste of Nashville hospitality at Gaylord Opryland Hotel for our overnight. This hotel, with 9 acres under roof will fascinate you. Your evening is free to enjoy any of the restaurants located here and to take in the gardens, or even ride the flatboat, inside the hotel!
