Join us as we travel into the deep south to the iconic Big Easy, New Orleans, LA! Our first night we’ll be just south of Nashville in historic Franklin, TN. Bright and early next morning it’s off to the Gulf Coast where we will arrive in Bay St. Louis in time to do a little shopping and dining in this gorgeous beach town before we board the 6:30 P.M. Mardi Gras Train to New Orleans. Upon arrival we’ll check into our hotel near the French Quarter for three nights. ON our first morning in New Orleans a guide will meet us for a tour of this vibrant city to include their fascinating cemeteries, the St. Charles mansions and much more. Lunch will be included at The Court of Two Sisters in their wonderful courtyard with a jazz combo playing. Your afternoon and evening are free to explore the French Quarter or the World War II Museum, or some gaming at nearby Harrah’s or anywhere the soft southern breeze blows you. Picture just watching the river go by as a nearby musician blows his horn. Day four, we’ll find out what Mardi Gras is all about as we visit Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World and see the artisans hard at work on next year’s Mardi Gras floats. Lunch will be on board a historic paddle-wheeler as we glide down the Mississippi River. The remainder of your afternoon and evening are once again free for you to enjoy the city at your own pace. Early next morning after breakfast we will head north to check into a downtown Nashville hotel later either to relax or to enjoy some of the music on North Broadway, the Honky -Tonk Highway, your choice. Heading north again in the morning, lunch will be included in Newport, KY at Hoffbrau House. Arrival back home will be mid evening. Time to get ready for the Holidays!
