This is the perfect time of year to visit the scenic Hudson Valley, just north of New York City, but a different world. Groups in past years loved this autumn extravaganza, and they have just re-opened to buses post pandemic. We’ll travel to Fishkill, NY to check into the Quality Inn for our two overnight stay. Our first evening will include the highlight of the tour, The Great Jack O Lantern Blaze at historic Van Cortland Manor near Sleepy Hollow, NY. This world class event includes over 5000 artist carved pumpkins fashioned into fanciful shapes including a 3-story high spider web, a sea serpent with a complete aquarium, and even a carousel!! thehudsonvalley.org/events/blaze. It is a sell out every year! You will have a chance to experience the iconic 84 Diner next door for an early dinner (on your own) before or later dinner after The Blaze. Wednesday morning we’ll have a chance to take a stroll on The Walkway Over the Hudson, the longest pedestrian bridge in the USA. Imagine the lovely fall foliage followed by time for shopping and lunch in picturesque Beacon, one of Hudson Valleys’ celebrated small towns. After a return to the hotel, is another highlight of the tour, “The Great Pumpkin Spice Murder”, a murder mystery dinner show. Help to choose the murderer in this entertaining bit of theater. Thursday morning we’ll set out for West Point to enjoy a guided tour of the Military Academy grounds followed by time for lunch in one of the nearby eateries.
